How Ideal Evaluates Your Experience & Skills

A quick guide to the experience you need, how Ideal reviews your skills, and how we match you to the right opportunities.

Updated this week

🌟 What Experience Do You Need at Ideal Flex Work?

Most roles on Ideal Flex Work require at least six months of hands-on experience — and that’s because we want to set you up for success. When you walk into a shift, we want you to feel confident, prepared, and ready to shine, which leads to great outcomes for both you and our clients.

💡 But here’s something important:
Your background is more than just a single job title or position.

If you’ve worked as a server, for example, you’ve likely built skills in customer service, hospitality, multitasking, and more — and we consider all of it!

Many workers qualify for more roles than they realize, and we’re here to help you uncover those opportunities.

⚡️ In short: Ideal looks at your whole story, not just one job title.

🧩 How Ideal Evaluates Your Experience

We use a few simple, supportive steps to understand your strengths and match you to opportunities where you’ll thrive.

1️⃣ Your Application Details

We start with the basics:
You’ll tell us about your past roles, how long you worked in each, and any relevant skills. This helps us:

  • Understand your background

  • Identify your strongest skills

  • Begin tailoring job matches just for you

2️⃣ Skill-Based Assessments

Next, you’ll take short, 10-question assessments for each skill you apply for. These questions focus on real-world knowledge related to that role — nothing tricky, just the essentials.

They help us understand:

  • Your comfort with key tasks

  • Your familiarity with the role

  • Where your strengths shine the brightest

❗️Important: Assessments are only one part of the bigger picture. Even if you don’t pass one, you are not automatically disqualified. We always review:

  • Your work history

  • Your overall skill set

  • Your application details

  • Your assessment results

It’s all considered together to make the best match for you.

3️⃣ A Conversation With a Recruiter

After assessments, you’ll have a friendly chat with one of our Ideal recruiters. Think of it as a supportive conversation — not a high-pressure interview.

During this call, you can:

  • Share more about the skills you’re proud of

  • Talk about the types of roles you enjoy

  • Ask questions about Ideal, our clients, or next steps

  • Get clarification or guidance on anything you’re unsure about

If an offer is made, your recruiter will also walk you through onboarding and explain exactly what happens next.

💛 We’re Here to Support You

Experience comes in many forms — across roles, industries, and stages of life. Whether you’ve been perfecting your craft for years or building skills across multiple jobs, Ideal is here to understand your full potential and connect you with work that fits your schedule, your strengths, and your life.

When you’re ready to apply or explore roles tailored to your experience, we’re excited to help you get started!
